I was recently hired to help a designer come up with a color palette for a new line of handbags. I spent many hours “researching” for the project: reading fashion blogs, googling fashion gurus and walking the streets pretending to be The Sartorialist. It was a gem of a job. I found much of my inspiration in the vintage stores scattered around the city, where I photographed countless prints and patterns. Here are a few of the fabrics that inspired my color palettes for the handbag project.
