CAROLINE MACFARLANE grew up in Kensington Market, developing a deep love for coffee, vintage clothes and graffiti at an early age. Her serious love for art began at the age of eleven when she saw a Keith Haring show at the Art Gallery of Ontario. She studied Art History at Queen’s University before heading to Europe and then to Australia, where she worked at Annandale Galleries in Sydney. Soon after, she taught English in Korea and traveled within Asia for a year. After completing her MA Art History degree at the University of Toronto, she started work as a Programs Coordinator for the OCAD U Student Gallery. Caroline is happiest when taking photographs, listening to music with bass, biking, dancing and sipping hot drinks.
VANESSA NICHOLAS is a west-end girl with strong attachments to High Park and Queen’s Pasta in Bloor West Village. After graduating with her BFA degree from Queen’s University in 2007, she ran away to England where she worked towards her MA History of Art degree at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London. Vanessa returned to Toronto in 2010 following an eight month stint working for the British and Canadian pavilions at the 53rd Venice Biennale; and she now works as a Programs Coordinator at the OCAD U Student Gallery. She loves collage, the Bloomsbury Group, peanut butter, vases of flowers, her bike, Naomi Wolf, her Polaroid camera and macchiatos.
